Medical Swimming Cellbots

چکیده
To address the issue that synthetic swimming nanorobots are susceptible to immune clearance and fouling in vivo, hybrid cell-based robots (cellbots) composed of living cells have been developed. Swimming cellbots use such as sperm, bacteria, algae fabrication units obtain capacity, which can be functionalized by adding different kinds functional components cargoes. not only inherit biological functions natural cells, but also realize diverse locomotion modes under action their parts. This perspective highlights fabrication, functionalization multimode motion control cellbots, possible medical application. As a representative example dual-responsive neutrobots two driving modes: rotating magnetic field actuation chemotactic locomotion, utilized cross blood–brain barrier target glioblastoma mice. The delivery efficiency these drug-loaded reach about 10% is significantly higher than traditional nanocarriers. Such may load types drugs navigated through combination chemotaxis externally physical fields magnetic, optical, ultrasonic potential biomedical fields.

Swimming biomechanics and injury prevention: new stroke techniques and medical considerations.
Shoulder injuries are common in swimmers of all ages and abilities. Advances in the understanding of biomechanics help identify and correct stroke flaws to prevent shoulder injury. Physicians can demonstrate correct pull patterns and body alignment in an office setting, and proper coaching can help correct mistakes made in the water. If injury occurs, swimmers can employ rehabilitation techniqu...
متن کاملSwimming Across the Pacific: A Novel Swimming Interface for VR
Locomotion interfaces to virtual reality environments present many challenges as well as exciting opportunities. Many researchers have examined classes of human movement such as walking, flying, and bicycling as means of locomotion in VR. By contrast, little has been explored in swimming. We outline the current state of development of the Swimming Across the Pacific (SAP) project which aims to ...
متن کاملThe hydrodynamics of eel swimming II. Effect of swimming speed.
Simultaneous swimming kinematics and hydrodynamics are presented for American eels, Anguilla rostrata, swimming at speeds from 0.5 to 2 L s(-1). Body outlines and particle image velocimetry (PIV) data were collected using two synchronized high-speed cameras, and an empirical relationship between swimming motions and fluid flow is described. Lateral impulse in the wake is estimated assuming that...
متن کاملSwimming championship finalist positions on success in international swimming competitions
The primary goal was to determine whether the achievement of finalist positions in the Junior Championship was associated with the achievement of success in the International Swimming Federation (FINA) World Championship (WC). Secondary goals included analyzing the effect of various factors (gender, age, country, etc) on swimmers' performances. Data were obtained from FINA information about the...
متن کاملAdverse Respiratory Health Effects of Swimming in Chlorinated Swimming Pools
Br J Sports Med 2012;46:402–406. doi:10.1136/bjsports-2011-090821 402 ABSTRACT Elite competitive swimmers are particularly affected by airway disorders that are probably related to regular and intense training sessions in a chlorinated environment. Upper and lower airway respiratory symptoms, rhinitis, airway hyper-responsiveness, and exercise-induced bronchoconstriction are highly prevalent in...
